General Description of Work
The Guest Care team serves the needs of our community in dynamic homeless ministry on the weekends here at our Burnside Shelter. This position supports and leads the men in program here as we provide meals, shelter, and lifesaving resources for the men and women who come in our doors.
This position provides valuable training and experience in ministry to individuals experiencing homelessness and offers growth into our advocacy and guest care advancement opportunities.
Arriving in the morning, this position starts with oversight of our breakfast service, guest relations office availability, and through our lunch and afternoon guest care center offerings, it concludes with beginning our dinner meal and transitioning to the night ministry team as they arrive to relieve you.

Supports the operation of the Burnside Shelter, leading our men in the connect program, overseeing our three meals on the weekends.
Minister to, build relationships with, and attempt to meet the needs of our guests as the enter the mission and utilize our services.
Maintain a safe and healing environment for the residents, guests and staff through the current practices of ministry as defined in the Outreach Best Practices Manual.
Provide relational referrals, answering questions, or solely having quality conversations with individuals in the building, and over the phone.
Receive incoming donations.
Support Mission operations as needed with regards guest care needs, and in regard to a quality experience around resources and restroom/hygiene services.
